So you have less bhp than you started with unless I'm reading it wrong?

no cause its NET bhp

net bhp is the HP that is left after aircon, alt, lost in gbox, wind resistance. it is the power that is available to accelerate the vehicle.

stripped, apexi, fuji, crank pully etc.

I think it's because its power at the wheels surely? with all engine and everything friction blah blah....

So how easy are these kits to install?... They look rather interesting to me...

thats what i was thinking...

I thought all dyno's gave a 'power at the wheels' number, then there was some mathematic trickery to get to the flywheel power than everyone quotes..

Where can you get this kit? Looks cool with the accurate 0-60 plots and engine feeds. How much for it all? Easy to install and I guess there is a kinda data-logger which you can then plugin to the comp?

yeah its "NET horse power" which is power left to accelerate the vehicle.

sorry about my last reply as i had been drinking a bit

getech plugs in the !Removed! lighter, mounts on the windscreen. (got have to go through the set up process, then its ready to go. it works of three accelerometers. which are deadly accurate!!! (you slightly rock the car + it measure G's to 3 decimal places. 0.745g's)

i got mine from Funkyproduct (link at top) for £220 posted. theres sometimes ones on eBay but they go upto about 210 so its not worth the hassle. buying off the Gtech website only put your order through to funkyproduct, so you better off ordering directly and seeing if you can use your gold discount.

getech plugs into a serial port on you pc (mine aint got one so i bourght a serial-usb adapter for £25) which allows you to use the software in the pics. great stuff and its well worth the wonga...... get one

theres a few on eBay, these seem to be old models, only £35 wont be as accurate as "earlp's" but probably miles better than a !Removed! stop watch or guesstimate.

i may buy one of those £35 ones.

So its just a device which mounts on the windscreen? How can it work out all that information? Sounds wickid.

Mainly interested in the 0-60, 30-60 aspects of it all. BHP on the go would be cool to calculate though.

Can't find it on Funky Products website though, searched and nothing found.

I've read about them before but never seen any readings from them...

Truely impressed and i really really want one. However i am a poor sod who spends more than i have/should in the first place so it'll have to join to list.. Also timing a 1.0 yaris may sound daft to some, but its the only car i have, and i aim to improve the lil blighter...

Presumably to calibrate the device you need to know the exact weight of you and the car. Not sure how easy it would be to find that without a weighbridge?

Paul.
