hi the new mr2 I am getting has the following problem;

CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELARTOR IS PUSHED DOWN WHEN THE CAR IS COLD.

IT HESITATES LESS WHEN WARM.

WHATS BEEN DONE

EVERYTHING HAS BEEN CHANGED ON THE CAR WHICH WOULD SUGGEST NONE OF THEM ARE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM

ANY WAY ALL THIS WORK HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT USING GENUINE TOYOTA PARTS

SPARK PLUG LEADS CHANGED

SPARK PLUGS BEEN CLEANED

ROTAR ARM REPLACED

DISSY CAP REPLACED

AIR FLOW METER CHECKED AND SET UP CORRECTLY

FUEL FILTER REPLACED

CHECKED DIAGNOSIS NO ERROR CODES ON COMPUTER

WHAT THE PROBLEM IS

ALL THE WORK HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT BY A TOYOTA SPECIALIST. THE ONLY SUGGESTION HE HAS IS THAT A SMALL PIPE OR A WIRE HAS BEEN MOVED OR BROKE WHICH IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THERE IS NO MAJOR PROBLEM. THE WAY YOU CAN FIND THE PROBLEM IS BY TRANSFERRING PARTS FROM ANOTHER MR-2.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

MANY THANKS MARK

uhh.. i wouldn't recommend flooring while it is cold. your oil hasnt even circulated throughout the engine. not only are u starving the engine of oil, but u are also starving the turbo of oil. do these too many times and it is bye bye engine. before boostin, id wait until the oil temp gauge goes up to halfway.

Good advice...and always let her cool down well as well if you have been bootin it !

lag problems could point towrds a turbo problem / actuator / split pipe ?!

If the mileage is getting on - it might need a De-coke,had a similar problem with a Celica(3S-GTE) once and it was a head off and de-coke job.

Just make sure there are no Vaccum leaks(split hoses) or Inlet manifold gasket leaking(sucking in air and weakening the mixture) - let the engine tick over and spray a little WD40 around the Inlet manifold flange and around the Vac.hoses - if the engine speed picks up,you probally have a vac.leak(the WD40 is drawn into the leak and richens the mixture up as it burns).

Dont spray it around the Dizzy or Alternator as it will take your eyebrows off !!
