hey guys, last thursday my kidney decided to finaly pass a kidney stone that's probably been there for about 3 years or so, getting bigger and bigger. finaly rupturing my kidney with the back pressure as it blocked the tract to my bladder. A world of pain.

i'm online, in bed, at home, recovering with a plastic tube in place of the blocked tract - lovely. I'm whacked up on meds. so dont expect much on topic chat from me for a while in the celica forum.

I aint gonna type it all twice, so heads up to this link y'all.

Good Heavens, you're lucky to still be here!

Glad you're on the mend. You take care.

And yes, earpl, you're right. Using ultraound is one method of breaking up kidney stones.

why didn't you get it seen to? dont they use sonics to break them?

i did mate, i went to casualty and was rushed into the emergency room and whacked up on morphine before I collapsed.

they fitted a ureteric stent, as described here - http://www.bui.ac.uk/patientinformation/ur...etericfront.htm

its too big to break with sonics it seems, also the b*stard has moved back up the tract, instead of moving down, since fitting the stent.

they cant do the sound shockj wave thing until the kidney is healthy anyway.

so they've sent me home to recover from the ruptured kidney first, i just have to live with a plastic tube emptying my kidney til then.

the pain killers are doing the job but they're leaving me a little dozy.

Man, I hope I never have to go through that, I know a guy how had them and he was in pain like I'd never seen. Funny thing is his wife just laughed at him saying "you'd never handle childbirth"

his wife just laughed at him saying "you'd never handle childbirth"

well, on a scale of pain, i think child birth is no 2 with kidney stones at the top of the list.

not many women pass out and collapse. anyhew, most women have a higher pain threshold, they have different chemicals and hormones. and men made that list, so realy child birth can't count as i'm a bloke. But of course i wouldnt like to give birth - if i could, respect to all the ladies. it looked terrifying when my twins were born.

though last thursday. wife thought i was dying.

if childbirth was sooo bad billions of women wouldnt do it, some many times!

my mum says it wasnt that bad, my sister in law too, my best mates wife, and my gf's brothers wife.

women use this line cos they know we cant argue it, cos we dont have the proof!

women you know it, so dont bother flaming me! :P
