They told me about ten minutes ago that the service will cost £320.00 + £42.00 for the MOT

The MOT sounds fine.

BUT £320.00!!!! Where does that figure come from.

I am Shocked, What I want to know is this to much or is it a Good price?

I don't know about the service mate but the mot is too much. Why get is motd at the main dealer. I have just paid £15 at a local garage - £42 is the full price!!!

Well I bought the car a year on the 28th june. It came with a one year warranty.

I think i will do the MOT there as is there is a major problem it's covered.

But I'm Worried about the service I'm thinking off doing that after just as £320.0 is to much at the moment.

I had my 60k service done about 2 months ago and it came to £250. I got them down to £220 in the end though after much complaining. I still think £220 is a bit rich but £320 is way OTT!

I'd take your business elsewhere!

If you wanna stick with Yota there are plenty more dealerships who'll be happy of your business instead!

After the warranty is up on mine, I'll take it to a local trusted mechanic instead.

What have they said they'll be doin in that quote?

Get a quote from a few other dealerships as well (Yota ones), like Coventry, etc.

See what price they give, and if it's cheaper, clal into Kidlington and ask why there's so much of a difference?

BBC News (14 May 2004)

Some manufacturers lifted this restriction last year... anyone know if Toyota followed suit? Business presenter on News24 said today that you don't have to have your car serviced at a franchise any more! Anyone wiser than me on this?

I'm going to take the Yaris to Here for the service, as the dealer is charging way to much.

Has any one been here or know of them?

I have lost all confidence and TRUST in Mr T after my horrible experience with my 50k service last year at a major MR T in north London.

I was ripped off for ghost labour i.e. charged for 2 extra hrs at £90+VAt an hour when only one hour was spent on the car. I was there keeping a time log and watching the workshop shop and I even complained when no one was working on the car after an hour it was taken in the workshop. Basically, I was charged for parking in their workshop.

IF I had taken up the service "ADVISOR's" recommendations and advices. my bill for the service and repair would have come out to just under £1000 (One THOUSAND pounds - yes - no typo error !!!) of which they quoted me £400 for "replacing the timing belt" as they recommeded it to be changed every 50k. Guess what ??? I have since found out from another dealer (when trying to get a timing belt for an indy to replace) that the Yaris (made in Japan version) does NOT have a belt but a CHAIN which does not require changing !!!! That's how good Mr. T "advisor" in giving advice and ripping loyal customers off (been there for servicing for 5 years !)

The other charges was normal inspection and chaning front brake pads and discs (70 percent worn)and anti-roll bar bushes. They failed my MOT when I did not want them to change the brake pads and discs even though the it passed the brake performance test.

I had a sort of pinking noise from the engine compartment and they did not bother to sort this out but suggested it was a noisy exhaust pipe, My indy guy in my 60k service located the noise was coming from a loose connection on the air intake duct which cost nothing to fix !!!! Perhap Mr T expected me to have the exhaust changed too !!!

Mr T really puts me off for life ! What a shame - good car and rotten dealer's after sale service !!! So beware !!!
