since my car is a 2002 it falls into the revised 2001 tax groups, its harsh knowing that im paying more money than if it were pre 2001 cos a t sport falls into catagory D. i think group D is the only one that this is the case

sodding government

dont even get me started on pay as u go taxing, has both good and bad points

i wouldnt complain...

the goverment is planning on charging everyone a fortune to drive to work, while letting grandma and chavs get away with as little as possible..

The bigger the engine, the bigger the running costs, you knew the risks when you bought it I presume? And if it is £15 thats not too bad.

Whats this all about? Has tax prices changed? I thought it was £65 for anything under a 1.5 and £90 for anything more than, for 6 months of course..

Not over 1549cc £110.00 registered before 1 March 2001.

Registered on or after 1 March 2001 based on CO2 emissions and fuel type Band D (T-Sport) £125.00 for 12 months.

I can live with a £15 a year increase.

Thats what you get for driving a more powerful car though!

I think my car works out less on the new system, because the emissions are lower than the previous tax bracket....

yea this new tax bracket works out for all catagories i think except catagory D which is my point as that is the catagory of the tsport

i had a 2.0 16v before my yaris so i was paying much more, but the point is from the old to the new system which is supposed to be fairer, for catagory D it isnt lol

its like being middle britain for cars

PMSL at you lot. Try owning a 4x4 Diesel over here. With a mitsubishi Pajero/Shogun you're easily looking at 300 pounds a year tax. Whereas my 1.0l Vitz is just 24 pounds :P

but i really dont see any point to this thread as there are no pre 2001 t sports. its like saying

"damn i wish my t sport was 30 years old, then i could get classic insurance"

the point is catagory D cars, which the t sport is one, is the only catagory where they pay more than the pre 2001 laws if im not mistaken
