Hello, I have a avensis d4d 2004. From a certain speed (especially with wind of face), there is a noise under the vehicle. This noise is as air which engulfs the car below. Does somebody know this problem? (excuse my English I am French!).

Thank you.

Do you have mudflaps?

Before I bought this car the dealer told me mud flaps were not recommended because they caused noise. I decided to have them anyway for protection but there is a noise like you describe and mudflaps could be the cause.

known fault with door seals defn warr claim book car and you will not have a problem do not settle for the dealers adding packaging material to pack in the seal gap

the rubber is too soft new ones stiffer

I've spent a lot of time trying to find out where the noise is comming from on my Avensis 2005, Sometimes it was from one side, then from the other, sometimes from bellow... Finaly, at 180 km/h I've closed (retracted) outside mirrors and boom... Noise was gone. Now I have the question, what to do with mirrors noise??? Anybody???

also noise from front windscreen some not stuck in correctly known problem

In fact the noise aerodynamic comes from lower part of the car. With little close with the level console.

yes I closed the outside mirrors with 130 km/h but the noise was still there

Does it sound like a high frequency bzzzzzzt?

comes and goes, depending upon wind direction?

if so, see my earlier posts.

:hokus-pokus:

This was SOLVED by having the windscreen removed and reseated (the original screen was used)

The right hand edge of the screen was not bonded to the dodywork, hence with enough wind pressure (in just the right direction) it forced through - causing buzz.:angry:

Get yourself down to the dealer - tell them that this has occured to a UK car too and was solved by replacing the windscreen

I know this doesn't solve those with wing mirror noise, sorry :group-cuddles:

the noise is a deaf noise as if one blew on a part with a sharp angle. The localization is below the car and the noise increases when there is wind of face. Below 90 km/h the noise is practically inaudible.
