Hi everyone,

I have been reading these forums for a while now, but this is my first post! Im a relative new mr2 owner...I have a 1995 UK 2.0 Gt-i, so I am just starting to make some modifications.

I'm trying to upgrade my sound system, however I dont have much experience. This may sound like a stupid question but would anyone know how to remove the front door Speakers. I have tried removing the speaker cover and storage areas, but I am afraid of breaking my door!

I want to install some new 6" Kenwood Speakers run by a 2 channel amp and I am also building a sub box (the thread on sub boxes helped greatly!), for a 10" JBL sub, to go behind the drivers seat which will run off a mono amp. Does this sound like a good setup... I don't want anything loud, just a better quality sound! I also have a Kenwood D-mask head unit and a 12 disk changer behind the passenger. What does everyone else have in their 2s?

Thanks!

Tar

the whole door skin has to come off, theres screws along the bottom, the little ashtray type handle pops out, theres a screw behind the proper handle so you can remove cover, and panel with electric window switch comes out TOP END FIRST! dont pull it other way or youll snap the plastic clip holing it in place, then its just screws holin in your Speakers, have fun, gets easier everytime you do it

a houston says, gets well easy the more you do it,

also, watch out you dont crack the plastic handle surround, mine has a nasty crack where it screws in.

You have to be quite firm pulling the skin off as the poppers are stiff. and unplug the red light also!

FWIW I recall if it's DOWN the skin won't come off at all, I remember trying for AGE'S when I 1st did it and all that was stopping it was the window being either up or down (you say up & your probably right).

Cheers
