What Did You Call It, And Why?

Lots of peeps on here seemed to have given their Yarii names, so much so I'm curious to know how you came up with them!

Just christened mine 'Aoi', which (I think) is Japanese for blue! Cos it's a Blue, geddit? :P

Would love to hear your reasons for the names of your Yarii! :D

Mods hope this topic's OK, just in case I've broken any thread rules! :bye:

Right then, to help start the ball rolling.... I'll cheat! :P

Youki (Ghost) :bye:

Mine got christened that on its first night home. I abandonded her to go to the pub with my girlfriend in her new Vauxhall Tigra. When we got back and I got out of the car, my car's indicators flashed. My mobile must've accidentally pressed the keys in my pocket or something but it seemed so spooky.
(one what I wrote earlier!)

Also in another thread, we briefly discussed how Thunder Grey changes colour depending on the weather. I liked the way the car seems to disappear into the background on dull days and yet shine brightly at other times.

Sounds like a ghost to me!

Following a long tradition of naming my cars (and other peoples!) I chose the name Kaori, which is a Japanese name, meaning "beautiful girl" (although have since noted that it can also mean fragrant aswell!)

I have named quite a few Yarii on here - its a proud achievement for me that I'm still the naming queen after all this time! :D :D

After I lost Karis, my last Yaris, I was pretty mortified. I felt that Karis deserved a longer life and in honour of Karis, I chose a name beginning with K (the others I was considering were Kaiya and Kaida) but settled on Kaori after a TOC poll chose Kaori over the others!

I already have the name for my next Yaris sorted too - he (and it will be he!) will be called Yoshi, which literally means "the best" - because my next car will be the best! :D  Yoshi Yaris!:lol:

Plus I believe I was the first to give a Japanese name? I'm not sure but if so, that means I've started a cult! Woohoooo for being leader of a cult!:lol:

I'd give you that credit, defo! I'd been thinking of Japanese names whilst awaiting delivery in December... just never came up with one I liked! But you defo got there first as you had Yarii long before me ;)

I called my 106 'Pepé (le Peugeot)' :D

My old T3 was Island Green, and I just felt she had to have a name..it's definately a girl thing lol! I go on another forum, I posted pics on there and one of the members suggested Jade, it fitted her straight away and also there is a colour called Jade Green too.

The Blue had to have a name too, of course - I left her unnamed for a fair while tho, as I just couldn't think of anything. A certain someone (;)) suggested Crystal - as she's Ice Blue, and you get Ice Crystal's..but me being me wanted it spelt differently from normal so I replaced the C with a K and she became Krystal :). I have called her "b :censor: y car" sometimes out of frustration with my driving skills lol but I do call her Krystal without thinking now, and I get some very weird looks off people who don't know that I am referring to the car :D

So that is my story

My Yaris (black) is Harris. My parents new silver one, arriving next Weds, I have christened Claris unless when we see the plate it happens to spell something interesting. We just sold a Ford Fiesta named Maggie after Margaret Thatcher! (Number plate had XPM in it and the name was apparently to aid the previous owner in remembering the plate.)

I called mine Jemima after Jemima Puddleduck because the first time I went out in her it was raining  I liked the name Gemma anyway, but the :censor: thick as two short planks :censor: woman at Carcraft was called Gemma and I certainly wasn't naming her Gemma after that! Especially since the Gemma @ Carcraft kept calling me Joanna (which isn't anything remotely like my name!!!)! :censor: Scousers!!! lol (I'm allowed to say it, it runs in my family!!!) :D

As you get older, young Jedi, you become more comfortable and confident with these things and don't worry about how 'manly' or 'girly' anything is.

Ain't named mine. I think the gf wanted to call it Beardsley at one stage tho.... (don't ask)

eitherway, that doesn't mean I don't love it.... I just like to show my affection by singing along to the wurzels as I knock it down a gear, put the peddle down and open up the surprisingly powerful yet little engine grinning as I pass yet another Nova so easily on the motorway.....

Yes I do need :help:
