My wife's RAV 4 auto, new in 1999, with only 25,000 miles on the clock, has developed an audible judder when turning left or right on full or nearly full lock at low speed. From the driver's seat it is difficult to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Disappointingly, our local dealer seems at a loss to know the cause. Initially they thought the brakes were binding and freed them up a bit, but the problem is still there. They are now talking of stripping down the gearbox, but haven't filled me with confidence that they will find the problem.

I can't believe ours is the only RAV to develop this fault, so has anyone any ideas as to the cause please?

Regards

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Try to remove the hatboard and drive without it. (please help me on the good English word...)

Regards, Jaco
