A Few Questions.

Hi, everyone, i've bought an "X" Reg Avensis, 1.8VVT-i vermont earlier this year and have been modding slightly(can't find much available), anyways what i want to know is:-

When is my timing belt due,

What petrol should i use (dealer said any, but a few mates state that i should use the super unleaded 98ron, due to the car being JAP, or somat),

Is there a service light, cars currently on 47k and no light(if not i'll service it next week),

What "SPORTS" brake disks fit my car, cos i can't find any(I.E. other toyota models),

Is there a strut brace available for this car, if so where (again can't find),

Is there such a thing as a badgeless grille available (grille in bonnet),

This issue of oil leaks, i have a slight loss, but not as much as stated in other posts, would a thicker oil be ok to use 10W40, or, shall i stick with the 5W/40,

Any help appriceated,

Thanks

Wayne

To answer two of your questions ....

1# VVTI Engines don't have cambelts they use a chain so don't need regular replacement

#2 My take on the oil usage issue is use 10W - 40W I topped up my engine which has done 80 K and it seems to have improved things - got 2500 miles on last top up of 1 litre . I will get the garage to put this in on next oil change. Hopefully this will get better when all in sump is this grade :-)

They're fine running on 95Ron petrol.

ECU isn't optimised for using super unleaded so doesn't make much difference.

By preference I'd stick to Shell/Esso/BP since I've heard stories of Supermarket brands missing addative packages before and !Removed! up engines but it ain't a common thing
