Engine Warning Light St205

Hi, question to all gt4 owners.

Once or twice when my engine was cold i have noticed after a couple of moments of the car running i have the engine warning light on.

Now this does bother me a bit. :(

I also have a rubbing sound coming from my cam belt, im unsure as to whether these are linked.

Anyway forget the cam belt as i am having toyota change it on Thursday.

Has anyone had this problem with the light? It seem to go away if you turn the engine off and start up again.

I have read that this is a common fault on the GT4 and it is the Intercooler pump that is the culprit. Anyway the car seems fine.

Any opinions would be hot

There is an earlier thread on this subject for the engine warning lights. Try there. However, the normal problem is "boiling off" of the intercooler coolant. This is quite acceptable except that as soon as the warning light has illuminated the ECU chip responds by reducing the power output. Quick fix:

1. Check the intercooler coolant level once a week and only top up with the "ultra" expensive Toyota red coolant (note: any other coolant could cause corrosion to the engine internals).

2. Disconnect Battery for 30 seconds to allow ECU chip to reset (or read earlier thread that explains which pins to link for same effect).

Thanks, i bought some toyota red coolant today (£3 - what a bargain).

When i get home today im gonna top it up.

I hear once i have done this i need to run the engine for a min or so then top it up again, is this right?

Also where is the ECU fuse? Cuz im gonna have to reset this.
