Hi Chaps,

I have just bought myself a great little 2.0 16v GTi, and i love it, so i am new to this forum, but it looks great!

Just reading the posts on the sensor changing, how much does it cost for a garage to change it?

If it's a U.K. model it may not have one

Yes it is a UK model, sounds good! Thanks for the quick reply too!

Any ideas to help with the horses, but nothing too expensive or technical! N/A engine.

On the tubby there is a sensor at the top of the downpipe/cat pipe near the dipstick as someone said. I'm sure there is also a sensor at the bottom of that section of pipe too. My downpipe has two sensor holes at the bottom, easy to monitor on the rollers.

I bought the car two weeks ago and am thrilled with it, just wondering if there are some inexpensive tips or tricks i could use to get that little bit more power out of it. Also my fuel consumption is about 150 miles from £20, is that about normal??

Thanks

To tell you the truth there is not alot you can do on the cheap,

You could get something like a Mongoose exhaust, and a induction kit,

then you start having to spend on things like a better e.c.u. + things.

Hi Guys,

Is 150 miles on £20 about right? Any methods apart from sensor cleaning/changing to improve this if its drinking too heavily?

i take it they are universal gubbins anyway

not manf. specific?

Just had the top sensor out on mine, looks fairly clean tbh. Maybe the guys who fitted my downpipe cleaned it up. I'll check the bottom one next time she's up on the stands. The top one is held on by 2 nuts, you have to move the turbo heat shield to get to one of the nuts.

There is no wiring for one, no hole in the exhaust for one, no warning light on the dash ...

So a Rev3 would not have one??
