Cheers  Bob :D, will insure it as an SSII.

Are they really 177 BHP?

Well they are in Japan, but with UK fuel being a lower grade, its going to be about the same as UK Celica's...that's 168-173 bhp ;) .

millers octane booster will have your 97/98 ron fuel boosted to 101ron.

You can buy cases of the stuff, at discount from Ian Smith of Toyauto centre.

Colder plugs will be good if you plan to stick to uk spec fuels and if you decide to give her some beans.

sounds like you got a nice car there fella :D

Thanks for advice . It is a good car, although I have just sold an Evo 4 as I needed the money, I am very pleased with quality and condition of my new Celica for what I paid :D (especially as it turned out to be the higher spec)

I know just how that feels - my ST185 is fully loaded with factory stuff from the happy world of the rising sun. God bless those little fellas - they know how to make a good car.

Will you be going back to EVO? what was the build quality like?

Surely ignition timing wud only be pulled back in the lower revs running on 98 ron rather than 100!

Its funny how GT owners claim they get 8 BHP from there superchips (igntion advance only)

And IF the peak BHP is directly proportional to the octane then should we gain some for running 98 RON over the 95? lol

The only reason I got rid was money, the Evo was an awsome car, it was the RS version by the way, but had aircon and recaros. When I was looking for Evo, I was told that the engines were bullet proof, mine certainly seemed like it. I would definitely recommend owning one as long as you are prepared for running costs (as I wasn't). If you looking for all out acceleration and don't care about mod cons go for an RS as they are generally cheaper and supposedly more fun to drive (never drove GSR so can't compare). I will go back to an Evo in future (sorry Toyota people), but for now am happy with Celica.

I've had quite a few cars that were top of their range and can honestly say the Evo beats all of them for build quality. Will definitely be going back to Evo one day. They are the best.

Anyway stop making me talk about Evos on a Toyota forum, I'll get shot
