Does 17" Alloys Put Your Speedo Out?

Recommended Posts

Just about to purchase some Fox Evo 6 17" alloys and just wondering whether they will put the speedo out.... If so, how can this be corrected???

Found this pic.... it has 17" Fox Evo 6s on it (i think - they look the same) without being lowered... looks cool....I have a Black N/A Rev 3 so hopefully will look just as good!

the size of tyre will correct the difference of the speedo .

Make sure your getting the right off set or you be would up by the rubbing noise!

I'd go with a lighter alloy than fox rims, unless getting in a Halfords doubble discont sale i'd stay clear of fox (I used to work for rip speed and there are buget rim's!

The light weight rims are norm better looking and give you better tracktion due to the reduced unsprung weight!

See koing, Speedline, Oz (super leguare & super T's) etc....

Fox are pony rims, will shatter on contact with a big bump ;)

and the tyre size will jig your speedo out, look in the tyres section, there is a tyre size converter. Try and keep the rolling radius the same.

all speedo's are slightly wrong anyway, which is why the police allow you to travel about 10% above the speed limit eg. 33mph in a 30 zone, 77mph in a 70 zone, you just have to say your speedo said 70 if your caught doin 75 etc.
