Abs

My 53 plate diesel avensis has started giving a bit of grief.

When I sat in it this morning to go to my horrible work the abs light came on with the ignition and stayed on with the engine running. The brakes felt fine so I carried on. When I got to my horrible work I switched everything off and got out and heard a brrrr-ing noise from the front of the car.

As I am still at my horrible work I haven't had a chance to look-----------any ideas?

Yep, we have a problem houston!

Definately ABS , probably pump or control unit. Have you pressure washed the engine bay?Or have you fitted a new tyre recently?

I would disconnect the abs harness from the control unit on the pump and start and run the car. The abs light will be on, but has the noise gone? Check connections and security and refit. This has been known to work. If not its a trip to toyota under warranty, if under 60k.

Good luck,

Cheers,

Nick...........
