Clutch And Timing Belt Kits

Hi,

I am looking for Clutch kit and Timing belt kit for my Carina E 2L GL (1992).

Where can I find it for a good price(and what is a good price for them).

What do you suggest to change with timing belt(idler, pretensioner, water pump etc).

I have read that original parts last longer and sometimes they are even cheaper than from other manufacturers.

You can buy these kits from any car accessory/motor factors - just check yellow pages.

A clutch kit will cost about £65 +VAT (for all three parts) You'll get at least a 2yr warranty.

A timing belt is abot £15 (I would buy an original/genuine part which is £28ish) - replacing the tensioner(or spring) isn't usually required. Changing the water pump is not a service requirement - They will normally last the life of the car and only need swapping if the pully bearing is exceesively worn which is unusual.

Sevice parts like air/fuel filters I use 'MOTOQUIP' who manufacture for PEUGEOT.

But I always use genuine TOYOTA oil filters.

I would like to know what is the point to use the original Toyota oil filter? Is there something special about it? Where can i find original Toyota parts online?

no real reason - But the minimal extra cost is justified given that a clogged oil filter is likely to prove the most expensive repairwise.

You can't buy genuine parts on-line as far as I am aware.
