Hi comrades :)

I'm planning to tune my yaris ts a little bit. I've been reading tuning magazines and there is not much to do with "freely breathable" motor. Enhance induction, exhaust flow, reprogram ECU with higher octane gasoline and buy street camshaft. These modifications cost a lot and give only 5-15% more power and torque.

I'm not looking for the turbo cause that costs even more and it's almost illegal to install. :arrgg-matey:

Does anyone of you have any of these modifications? Have your car been tested in a dyno before and after. I've seen the ts corolla results before and after the induction but that does not help much. :(

This could be my tuning set:

Induction kit would be twister of green filter

Unichip for the tuning timings and etc

Martelius "tin plate" exhaust manifold, pipe and back box (CSC back box and pipe)

CSC race catalyzer for better flow

or something

If you have any idea or fact about tuning please let us know.

What makes you think that the Turbo kit is nearly illegal? Or is that just because of laws in Finland?

I've got a induction kit with a straight though CAT free system.

It does help power but remember it doesn't make it fly (yet)

if you do the ECU upgrade let me know. I want it done but the handling of the car needs attention first. I mainly drive fast down country lanes and the little Yaris leans to much at high speed. Hence the next mod being lowering springs.

Let's be specific it's not illegal to install turbo, but 92 or newer cars in Finland must comply an european E15/04 exhaust emmissions. To comply that you must test you car after turbo modification in a finnish TUV. And that costs 1000-2000€. This does not mean that you get a license :)

One way out of this could be that Toyota imports the Turbo Yaris for finnish market and does the emission tests. That way I could install exactly same turbo to my car. Toyota will not import the Turbo Yaris : (

Finland is a promise land of a car modification ;) Must buy older car.........

europe is a pile of sh*t its europe that needs to be made illegal .... NO TO EUROPE

Thats bad luck ... but not half as bad as what is being talked about in the uk ... on top of what muct be the worlds most expensive fuel prices they want to fit GPS systems to our cars and charge us for every mile we travel..
