Got my car the other day. :) 1.8 T3-S Hatch in Black.

Sat nav disk for TNS300ETA is 2004-05 Version 2 - I assume this is the most up to date disk??

One thing I noticed which I hadn't spotted before is the weird almost carpet like material in the wheel arches?? Is this waterproofed stuff? (Surely it has to be) Must be a bit of a pain to keep clean though??

Look forward to sharing my experiences of Avensis driving. :D

Gad sirrah! Well spotted, I've had mine nearly a month and hadn't noticed that, just went outside to check! Seems to stay clean alright though, nearly 4K miles including some 'off roading' and they look just fine.

Mind you car is cleaned at least once a week

Hi,

The carpet stuff you describe is the sound deadening with the wheel arches.

it

A) Works

B) Eventually gets dirty, but cleans up nicely with a jet washer.

Cheers

Andrew

It also cuts down on the spray from your wheel arches - hense less need for mud flaps (bit like the mats that lorries have had to have fitted for ages)
