Think they are supose to be for classic cars, but would it be legal to put these plates on a new car? Think they will look quite nice on a black car

there are only legal if your old is old enough to have them when it was first made..

i.e

my 1967 VW beetle can have them on and it will pass a MOT with no problems and you can have the black ones made in metal.

The cut off date is about 1974.

However I do find the police will turn a blind eye to any car over 25 years old (pre 1980) with them on.

Nit picking, but the cut off date is earlier then 74! our '73 e-type is still too new :(

I think its 71 or 72
