reliablity questions/issues

hi regarding my earlier post buyin this glanza below

http://www.avantimotorcompany.com/current_...a_V_110205.html

Im currently having little arguments with my father, i wanted a glanza after a slogging away for my degree @ uni a year ago (working now!), about 6month ago i bought a yaris sport, but i wanted a glanza from the begginning and there wasnt any about at the time.

im due to sell my yaris and im probably end up buyin this glanza, my main concern is reliablity, i know this has blitz turbo and its been refurbed by turbo technics, and boost will have been increased from what i understand it better than having standard turbo on for reliablity.

just my father seems to think ill be in and out the garage all the time, since this is an old and the mods. can someone clarify this and put my mind to rest! should i ask the guy questions before i buy and what things should i look at, ie blue smoke etc

god damn it im nearly there to buying one!!!

It would be a good idea to see the car first obviously and check for blue smoke etc. As for yer dad, its japanese!! Refer him to the episode(s) of top gear where they tried to destoy the toyota pickup!

haha, exactly the same as mine! This is my first jap turbo and he went through similar things. I had to persuade him that they were reliable aswell. I asked on the gtturbo site (as i see you have also!) and everyone said the same thing

3 years of owner ship and a flasher relay and the suspension top mounts later is all i've spent appart form the mods and consumables brakes pads etc

But Simon has cared for his car. He's let it warm up before booting it, and let it cool before switching off, and he's serviced it regularly.

Look after it and it will look after you...

Abuse it and you'll regret it.

whats the glanza like with short journeys? as its a turbo i imagine wudnt be a good idea? rough idea's

provided sufficient oil temperature and corresponding pressure are achieved before you cane it, then there should be no difference in having a turbo for short journeys.

caning a turbo car from cold is one sure fire way to nacker the turbo bearings.
