I Have No Alarm

I had a little problem with my starter switch, I have a year 2000 Corolla GS with the VVT 1600 engine so I took the car to a Auto electric Garage who removed the Switch and cleaned up the contacts, problem cured but since being in the Garage the Alarm has stopped working and the Garage say it is nothing to do with what work they had done. The alarm red flashing light has stopped working the remote does not respond and the alarm is dead I have to lock the doors manually. I have checked all the fuses that I can find and they are all OK. I have checked all connections under the dash and the ign switch they are all ok. I cannot find the location of the Alarm and Haynes do not do a manual as yet. Is there anybody out there with knowledege of the Alarm system fitted to the 1600 GS year 2000 with the VVT engine. The alarm was working perfectley until I took it to the Garage for the starter switch fault, so I just cannot understand how the Alarm can just cease to function. Any help with my problem would be highly appreciated.

Regards R Max Morris

Remove the glove box and you should see it there by the centre panel strut.
