just been and ordered a pipercross panel filter for my gt gen6, but i saw a really smart carbon induction kit aswell, how would i fit the induction kit as the air box has sensors on and the iduction kit doesnt, or would i be better off just using the filter? thanks

Unless you want to build a cold air box, it`s not worth putting an induction kit on, as you will be sucking in warm air from the engine bay - not good. Go for the panel filter.

cheers mate, will do that, would i see any difference in her with said filter?

Possibly better throttle response. The engine should breathe a little easier. Maybe a slight increase in induction noise. Not too sure on Piper products. Had a Pipercross cone on my M535i which seemed ok. The TRD panel filter is highly thought of.

you should see some acceleration improvement - have you got "her " on optimax .

if you do go induction kit , KN have made one specially for the gen 6 celicas , which has a hole and a place for those 2 rubber pipes to go too.

i left the resonator box intact and stuck the maf sensor into the big black throttle body hose , using a 10 mm drill bit made a hole for it.

super 97 and a bottle of octane booster , you will see a difference .try it, better still use it with optimax.i see a big drop in power in the gt4 using 95 ron , so stick with bp ultimate or optimax

The car is setup for 100RON, 97 RON will probably be as good as Optimax - Optimax is upto 98RON but can be less. You could get some Octane Booster and top it up with that to get the full performance

general consensus is panel filter = more power than induction kit

mod the airbox = more power still

it would ordinarily. But if like Kevstir you put a direct cold air feed into it this will help.... A little.

Dont think a new air filter will compensate for a lead foot.:lol:

Not unless ur old paper filter is VERY dirty

TBH round town thats what i get about but on long motorway journeys my MPG doubles round abouts.

Initially when i got my car i was getting like about 50 miles for £10 on motorway too. turned out to be a faulty lambda sensor.
