Thought I'd increase the numbers ;)

Got a MR2 Mk1 NA... but am SLOWLY building a turbo'd MK1..aim is 300bhp.

Last car was a modded 94 turbo (was in March Fastcar mag), and the one before that was a 91 turbo.

See my website for more info.

Regards,

Jon

jrleech, you see that 330 brake Mk1 in Revs?

The guy says he ran so much boost once he snapped

his crankshaft! Also could comfortably outrun a

Ferrari 355....

PS Are you twin charging a 4age or transplanting

a 3SGTE?

and another MR2! :D

mine is a 95 NA GTi-16 with simple mods on the horizon (when I find some money).

anyway, lets hope this board fills out nicely.....with some more MR2 owners!

Cheers

MJI

Hello there! I like the site. Myself and a couple of toyota enthusiasts here in Ireland are setting up a site. Our idea was similiar to this but looks like you nipped us in the bud. Still we hope to be up and running soon! Maybe further doen the line we could organise some cross channel events!

Oh and Im another mr2 owner. 92 Jspec engine!!

Good luck with this site!!

mr2slo, have you been to www.board.mr2faq.com? It looks like you are excited about mr2 owners being on this forum. It is like this forum but the good thing is, everyone owns an MR2. :D

Anybody know how to tighten rear wheel bearings as my rear wheel has a little play in it(MR2 mark 2 )

Posted

will find out and post response asap :)

Posted

not sure if they're tapered or solid (probably tapered). if they're solid

just tighten it, if they're tapered then do it up till just passed where it

starts to grip.

more info

The the big nut in the middle usually does the job - you'll need to replace the split pins etc that hold it in place.

If there's free play you're more likely than not going to have to replace the bearing, espeically if it had free play

Posted

Thanks Rhaines, replacing the bearing is a D,I,Y job I hope?:

Posted

for the little amount of work it is I would take it to a garage... I have seen wheels fall off because the bearings were not put on correctly.

I have had it happen to me with lose bearings
