I've just bought an '89 Celica 4WD Turbo. I'm using it to learn as much as I can about engines and so on. Basically, I've managed to change the oil and filter but I think I made a big mistake. I first drained a tank with a large bolt about 22mm thinking that it was the oil. I then realised there is a smaller one not too far from it. This is the bolt for the sump I assume. Anyhow, to cut a long story short I think I may have drained the gearbox oil or something. How do I go about filling this up as there seems to be no holes from the top of the car and I can't see any from underneath the car except from the where it all came out.

Please help cos i'm afraid that the car will be damaged if driven without filling this up. :help::help::help:

firstly the engine oil sump is the black pan on the left hand side of the engine bay( but underneath) as you look from the front of the car.

to fill the gearbox oil if you look on the front of the gearbox under the starter motor you will see a 22mm nut undo this and fill through the hole until oil comes out ( use GL5-LS 75w-90 oil) there is a filling bung on top of the gearbox but cant remember what you have to remove to get at it but make sure you fill only to the level of the front bung
