Hi all, have a weird question, i have a uk spec celica gt GEN 6. I have noticed that some of the if not all the imports have 4 rear side lights at the back, this correct? i'm gussing that the uk spec only has 2 becuase of converting the others to fog lights? hope i'm making sence  anyway i wanted to convert the fogs to also be side lights and i think its quite easy i just need another set of side/brake light bulb holders, has anyone ever done this mod before?

Also :D do the jap versions have the front side lights in with the indicators? when taking the indicators off the clean them i noticed a blanked off hole wear a bulb can go

cheers

Hey Dude

I have a JDM Gen 6 import and the rear lights are as you say. All four function as tail and brake lights, check my pics on my page if u like the brake lights are on.

The front side lights are in the outer head lamps not the indicators, I cant help you with the other question about the front.

On the back conversion it would just be a matter of fitting in your double bulb function holder and tapping into the right wires, can you get a buld that your happy with as a side light fog light or will u just use another side/brake bulb?

You have made me think about converting two of my brake lights to fog lights now cause I have the twin function already there. Have u checked to se if yours maybe has two functions and one not used?

let me know how you get on

hay mate,

cheers for replying, thats good about all 4 lighting up, thorght it was the case. looks so much better i think. Well i will just leave them as fog/side lights not bother with the brake. as fog bulds are just the same as brake bulds when it comes to brightness i will use the same bulb as my side/brake but just use it the brake part as fogs instead, better for the mot (o: all i need now is the !Removed! holders  tricky, not sure were to get them from.

i have already had a look at the holders and its single function only on the fogs :(

Just out of intrest, my fog switch is on the right of the dash, whats your switch

used for if you don't have build in fogs? or don't you have one?

As for the front, you can see the caped off part at the back, and the orange filter for the inducator buld on the front, theres a large clear non filtered part. Quite tempted to put my side light into here. wonder why its there if its not used, weird

My switch for the fog added below the bumper on import is right above the heater vent to the RHS of the steering wheel , It looks very neat in place and I suspect it was there, it has a little red led in it to show you it is on. Just re read you mail - same as yours for the added fog light. Duh me

I spotted another Gen 6 today and the front lights are the same as yours. It clearly looked like an indicator and a side light
