wehn u say catback, u mean just the last "big-metal-thing" and the tip right?

didn't you take a look at the diagram in your other exhaust post, after all those long hard tiring seconds it took to make it.

Anyway a muffler/backbox/silencer, will only change the sound, and the look of the pipe, a cat back system may give you a 1% increase if your very lucky, combine that with a sports cat/decat, induction kit and manifold and you may see a bit more.

Then there's backpressure to think about, with some backboxes you will feel the pressure when you slow down from a higher speed, I had this on my peco exhaust on my previous car.

still.. i fail to realize.. how come the backbox changes the sound so much?

its just a pipe in a pipe.. 90mm all around isnt it?

No - my cat back HKS involes a torpedo shaped chamber and a great big back box - all of which make a nice burble ...

here you go read this

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/muffler.htm

it tells you how a muffler works, but these are how standard exhausts are made and how they make them quiet, it's basically the same only the baffles/mufflers inside the exhaust are slightly different to give it a sporty sound.

looks good, and should give you a nice sound, If you like it get it, £200 isn't bad,

Does this price include the fitting of the exhaust, or just the fittings to put the exhaust on.

an exhuast that improves fuel economy?

Yeah. better exhaust efficiency?. I got 9.5 - 10 km/litre for a E-230 Mercedes, city driving in Singapore.

anyway... 114 is alot for a backpipe isnt it?

rather large... hehe

i just hope the inside is not as the stock pipe is..

a 5 cm pipe stuck in a 9cm tip .. looks so stupid..

thats the main reason im chaging it

the thingis i dont have much choice..

this is the only exhaust approved by israel MOT.

oh .. i almost forgot 2 ask u guys..

the garage that sells and fit them, is telling me i should expect about 3-6% power gain from this freeflow exhaust... and if i have a induction kit.. i can reach up to 9% power gain.. can it be?
