There is a "canvas" roof. But they leak badly.

It was said that's the reason why there isn't a Toyota Badge on the car, they wouldn't put their name to a car that leaked.

I thought it was because without the extra support a roof (or a T in the t-bar) gives.. the car wasnt as safe or something.... as a roof gives a car a lot of its rigidity

The roof is actually VERY rigid .. a lot more than cutting the roof off. They may have added the T-bar strengthening. Hard to find out really.
