Steering

hi.....need help urgently.

i took my 1999 avansis to my local garage because the pas was not working ,

intermitantly it cuts-out. its fine most of the time, then all of a sudden theres no

power steering(dangerus at roundabouts). you have to fight the steering wheel

then the pas comes back.

anyway the garage showed me the problem, the steering rack was moving even

thou the retaining bolts where tight.

you will have to take it to a toyota dealers to replace the rubber bushings and

we dont have the special tools needed for the job.

SO i went to toyota and got an estimate.

steering rack worn/steering column worn..........£1620.43

gearbox driveshaft seal leaking........................£132.25

(new clutch was fitted by them yr/6mths ago).....£400.00

Weve had toyotas in the past and weve loved them but this might be the last one.

should i get ride of it or try another garage.

Can anybody advise, A.S.A.P.

Thanks phil. :censor: :ffs:
