Don't know how many people know this but there is a Starlet 4WD called the EP95. I just spotted one on an import site. i heard about one of these last yr but wondered how they cud squeeze all that running gear in the car. well i seen one pic of one and it don't look any diff. its only a pic of the side/front. but from the looks of it the ride height it is no diff from a standard starlet and its still a 1.3 n/a. i was wondering if anybody had any details and pics of how they have done this and if anybody has done the right thing by puttin a 4etfe engine in one. can you imagine if the cars diff. was set up rear bias. the amount of grip and fun in a little car like that wud but mental. but am not sure how much weight this added to the car. prob a stupid idea. but the thought!

aye, you do lose the power to weight! Apparantly the drivetrain cannot handle the power either

yeah, i believe its a paltry diesel engine in it, and the drivetrain is very weak indeed, would break instantly. and then there's the question of matching up the drivetrain with the 4efte, which is a fwd engine, not a 4wd engine.

meh, if you want a 4wd, can do what " rollaboy " or someone like that did, and put a celica gt4 chassis (drivetrain, powertrain, chassis) and put the rest on top...though it will cost you ubik loads of money

I cant <I thought I could get past the swearing filter - what a sad muppet I am eh?>in wait!! :D :D Its just a shame that its shadowed by yesterdays events :(

this has been done before, and riko's right its a 1.5 diesel.

someone mated a 4efte to this 4wd drivetrain, but the went on to tune it to about 250 bhp.

i would have thought the diesel engine would produce a fair bit more torque than the 4efe (which has been turboed on a standard drivetrain sucessfully up to 204bhp) so if thats true in theory its possable the drivetrain would be able to take standard fte power, but probably not alot more. depends how fragile everything is, but as its a toyota it should be over engineered just like everything else.

i'll get a link...
