What tranny should i look for if i want to use a Camry V6 in my rwd celica? :!Removed!: I guess I could get a local company her to make a adapter plate for me, so the important part is: what nice tranny would stand the force of the brutal 200 horsepower im gonna take out of it? (and wich would get the gearshifter in approx. the right place..? )

According to my database it's ATF DII or DIII depending on year however, the problem with ATF's is they are very thin and prone to shear and although suitable for stock road cars are not always ideal for modded cars putting additional loads through the gearbox.

In these cases it is often better to use a 75w-90 gear oil which although is thicker gives much better load carrying and shear resistance to cope with heavier loads however there can be downsides to using this oil although not major. Because it's thicker you may experience more notchy shifting when it's cold however you have to weigh this up with the greater protection you get at all other times.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Simon
