Squeak

I've recently noticed that when I start my car it makes a slight squeaking noise, but only for a fraction of a second then it sounds fine.

Is this something that I should worry about, or is my car just going through a cranky phase?

If you cant find any Rodents in the airbox or hanging onto the bottom pulley,it would be worth spraying the front exhaust mount rubber and mounting pin with some spray grease - this normally works.

Failing that - you might have a slightly loose drivebelt(alternator or PAS belt) which squeels under initial start up/load.

Yep wot Mick said, check the tension of your belts and your power stering fluid level too

Sounds just like the problem I have w/my Gen 7 - traced to the aux drive belt tensioner.
