Time For A New Turbo?

i've recently fitted a grainger valve, but i haven't turned it up from stock at the minute because:

1: i took off all of the intake side to the turbo and there was quite a play on the shaft.

2: i'm getting some turbo lag, between gears it takes a couple of seconds to spool back up, then yo0u can feel it 'kick' in again.

So what's the verdict? New turbo? :crybaby:

If so where's the best place to either get a new one, or send my to be recon'd?
