Our new Rav 4 Granite (14 days old) has developed some scratches on the bonnet we believe are due to a neigbours cats which jumps on the car for heat?

Any of you out their suffered something similar and what did you do to stop it (apart from the obvious (wife won't let me!))

Can I get a specific bonnet cover or do I use a blanket covered in pepper?

Any help appreciated??

:ffs: :ffs:

Thanks

I had this problem with my Lexus - problem was worse as it was my own cat !!

Get some of the green cat repellent buds - two waxy cones on a bag tie - leave a pair on your scuttle when parked up - worked for me after about a fortnight - cats hate the smell and after a while learn not to bother returning - may need to do it again when weather gets colder too I guess ...

Also tried on of those sonic repellents but not so effective - and a lot dearer - doh !

They (cats) hate Orange peel, not sure if that helps you or not !

Pepper works too - but not near your air intake !!

I've got the same problem, not on the bonnet, but on the windscreen. They get on it at night and try to climb up but keep slipping back, and with the muddy / gritty paws the glass is getting badly scratched. I tried to polish them out but no luck. I live in a top floor flat so difficult to go out and catch the little bas+@£ds but may give the cat buds a try. Where can they be bought from?

Got mine from local garden centre - not sure but would guess B&Q / Woolies / Robert Dyas etc should do them too - let us know how you get on.

Cheers everyone, really appreciate the tips, to date the little !Removed! cat hasn't been back although I have now singled out which one I think it is!

I was planning on putting a blanket on it laced with pepper as other web sites say that the cats eventually leave it alone if they can't get near to it (as it irritates them.)

The wife wasn't best pleased with the idea of her pride and Joy being treated like a horse withan old blanket on it, so to date I have not had to take any action (other than fit my nite scope to my air rifle - joke !)

Thanks again for all the help I'LL LET YOU KNOW IF IT RETURNS

Regards
