Stop Lights

Hi

I have a Gen 6 import with a stop lamp in the boot lid. After checking why the broken circuit warning lamp was ilumimated I found this lamp was not working.

After removing the bulb ( you do not have to remove all the boot lid trim as the plastic behind the small cover is a long bulb holder and can be remover by an push and twist) I went off to Halfords for a replacement. It is not a screw or bayonet but the type that has the filament ends bare at the base of the bulb. Their max for the correct fitting was 5W and was smaller in the bulb diameter, I recon I can just see 18W on the bust bulb. Any idea where I can get one?

Fitted the 5W just to get rid of the warning light, bulb works but the warning light is still on. Hope the correct wattage bulb will get rid of it but wont hold my breath.

The dash bulbs are standard, and I would have thought the stop lamp would be pretty standard - Just try a local motor factors - should be able to pick one up for 50p, failing that do as Martin says and pop to Toyota
