Hi people,

Ive just signed up to the Toyota owners club and was wondering if anyone could help me out on a lil problem of mine. I'm realy tempted to buy a Starlet GT Turbo.

But I'm just realy worried about parts and was wondering if they are hard to get?

Things like cambelts and Fan belts, do they have to be imported or can i get them from my toyota garage?

As for the brakes, do i have to import proper Starlet gt turbo discs and pads? or can i use discs and pads off another uk Toyota such as a Corolla gti...etc?

What grade of oil would i have to use?

I was told that if the clutch ever goes on a starlet turbo, you can use the clutch of a uk spec mr2 turbo, is this true?

I'd be realy greatful if anyone could give me some advice or contact numbers/websites of companys who import parts of the Starlet gt turbo.

Most service parts are the same as a European Starlet, but there are a number of parts which are specific to the turbo models.

Use a good quality sythetic oil, eg Castrol RS / Mobil 1

Clutch - there isn't a UK spec MR2 turbo, and anyway they're different. You have to have a Starlet Turbo Clutch

well how about the brakes? do they have to be for a starlet or can i use some from another model? and are there any online stores or companies who will import the parts for me?

again brakes are really starlet turbo specific. As per my last message "Visit www.toyotaownersclub.com for specific advice". I'll add there are a number of starlet turbo vendors on there as well.

You can get everything from your Toyota Garage, import or not. But it's probably not cheap !
