Turbo Charging A Corolla Gti

Hello everyone. My friend is doing a t3 conversion on his starlet turbo so will have the turbo, manifold, intercooler, oil feeds etc left over. I was thinking about trying to fit the turbo to the corolla. Obviously i will need some fabricating done to the manifold to fit the turbo, but was wondering if lowering the compression ratio to about 8.5/9:1 by way of a thick head gasket will be enough to let me run 7-8 psi safely. The only thing is the head gasket i have found says it lowers the 4agze compression to 8.5 but im assuming the 4age engine will have a higher compression ration then the 4agze engnie as standard so the head gasket wont bring down by as much. Can anyone shed any light on the standard compression ratios of both engines and also if i can safely run this turbo on standard internals?

Thanks,

I looked into doing the very same thing, and was advised that the compression wont be low enough by just adding the gasket, which is a real shame, but also......

you need the GZE blobk and internals because it has a longer stroke with lower compression and much much stronger internals and crank including pistons, rods pins etc etc ect etc and the ECU map can deal with the turbo fine, as apposed to the supercharger it normally has to deal with.

If someone tells you different, and can tell you why its ok i'd love to hear as my 4agze appears to have 'dissappeared' in transit :censor: :censor: infact the whole container seems to have vanished and i'm :censor: about it.

try looking at http://www.turbocorolla.com for pretty much all you need, and if you need to contact the guys there use the forum at http://www.twincam16.com :)
