Hello Everyone And Help....

Hi everyone i'm new to the site. Right about 5 months ago i bought a 52 reg T-sport which has done 25,000 miles. In the last few weeks it has developed an inconsistent squeaking from the front right hand side of the car. I'm about 99% sure it is something to do with the brake caliper/ disc assembly. It squeaks when the car is in motion and seems only to be there at low speeds (30 or lower). If i brake it stops. I thought it could be the brake pads being worn as the sensor squeaks but they are fine. So i cleaned up the pads and calipers whilst i had it in the air. However thee squeak returned the next day. I took it down to the dealership and they had a look at it and found nothing wrong.. they too cleaned up the pads/calpier and about three days later the squeak was back. It's getting annoying as i'd like to drive the car in traffic without being embaressed by the horrid noise coming from the front.

Other than this however the car is awesome.

Also i was toying with the idea of fitting an induction kit to the car. K&N make one specially for the t-sport engine and it looks pretty good. Has anyone else put one on or know of a better one to try?

Thanks and best regards..... Dave

I had a similar problem on my GXi and although the pads and caliper may look ok, the caliper may be starting to seize and therefore keeps uneven pressure on one side of the disk only causing that pad to squeek and one pad may wear down quicker than the other. As yours has only 25k on the clock though I'm not too sure

Well thanks for the suggestions, have taken the pads out and had a look, cleaned them up again and jet washed the whole area. I have copper greased the back of the pads (again) and it seems to have worked this time.

I also got some caliper paint from Halfords and have painted them red. It looks good with the thunder grey.:lol:

Could the discs be slightly warped?

I've had my front discs skimmed twice now - evidently a problem with the Celica T-Sport.
