Connect Mp3 Player To W58814 Radio

Hi there,

I found other threads that dealt with this kind of stuff but I couldnt make head nor tail of them unfortunately.

Firstly how do I remove the W58814 Radio?

Secondly, I've found an IPOD interface kit for the radio on this

German Site but I just want a simple line in connection to connect in my Creative Muvo Micro.

All I want is to be able to play my mp3 player through the car Speakers.

If I can get some kind of CD Changer to 3.5mm cable, how can I bring it out from the back of the radio in a neat fashion?

Click on my signature link, it will show you how to remove that H/U

Don't worry about the H/U not looking the same, it just shows how to take dashboard apart

Thanks a million for that man, will give it a go straight away.

Any leads on a cable (or lead for that matter :) )?

The same website you were looking at also has an aux interface see http://www.dension4u.de/shop/product_info....products_id=705 . This will give you a left and right phono connection. You could then add a lead to convert the phono to a standard headphone socket.

I want to do the same thing so I purchased a USA-SPEC DF-TOY interface http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=705 , thinking it would do the job. However, don't bother it doesn't work. It has the correct plug it just doesn't want to communicate with the head unit.

I would be interested to know if you get the product from the German website working.

Thanks yeo, I might go for that alright.

I'm pretty sure I have a converter from 3.5mm audio to phono at home somewhere.

I take it that these AUX IN leads are stereo specific then?

I had thought that I would just be able to get a generic one.

Yes, the aux in units are specifc to your head unit. From what I can work out, they fool your head unit into believing you have connected a cd changer.

Do you know by any chance how much it would cost to have the installation done by an expert aprox. ? If not done by a toyota dealer, would I lose my warranty?
