1.3 Solair '96 Purchased Today

Hello everyone I have just joined the club today with the purchase of my corolla 1.3 solair 5 dr hatchback '96 (e10). I need some advice on putting some 16' alloys on the car. I have had a 1.3 Gli 3 dr hatch '92, a little while ago which was involved in a crash, but as these cars are so nice I decided to buy another. I had 16' alloys on my old corolla which was a 3 dr, with 205/45/16 tyres and had problems with the back arches catching a little, which I sorted by doing a diy job, by putting rubber spacers in between the springs to rise the car from the back a little and harder the springs. I would like to know if I will have any probelms with the arches on the 1.3 solair 5dr with this tyres (205/45/16). Could someone please inform me as it would be of much help, thanks.

PS: I will be adding pics of my new corolla and old one very soon.

Yep  Tyre size you chose is correct for wheels and rolling radius, but i'm affraid Corollas do sometimes suffer with arch scrubing when wider/bigger wheels are fitted...so... arch 'rolling' is employed quite a bit.

Other people have done this I have not, also some peple have ground a little of the lip off, but mind your paintwork
