A few weeks ago my ABS light came on in my 1996 Celica ST. I haven't had a chance to bring it to the garage yet but does anyone have any idea on what the problem is.

Cheers!!

Usually it means there is a problem with your ABS. I'd recommend getting it looked at as a matter of urgency. The brakes are the one thing in a car I wouldn't take any chances with!!

I've a Corolla G6R with the same problem, I've taken it to a dealer and got it plugged into a computer, it showed up 3 of the 4 speed sensors on the wheels having errors, the problem is these sensors rarely give trouble let alone 3 together which leads to the unfortunate reality that the "ABS actuator(controller)" is more than likely where the problem lies. Whats really unfortunate is that Ive been quoted prices in and around £900 to replace it!!!

They only made 420 G6R's, so as you can imagine finding a second hand unit is highly unlikely, although I've been told that the last of the G6's might have the same unit- so maybe theres some hope yet.

Anyway let me know how you get on with yours
