Was it low before the service?

If not, take it back and ask them! They can't charge you for something they've done!!

Two days???!!

If it took me that long to diagnose a fault on the production line at Jaguar i'd get the sack!

Come on mate, do you really think they need the car for two days to diagnose a silly fault like that? Personally I think it's time you moved service centre, or said a few words.

That's just my two pence worth anyway! Can you tell I hate dealers yet?

This happened to my carina gti. what i did to get rid of it was. change the spart plugs. spark leeds. rotor arm and distributor cap. after that she was like a new car.

just want to say a big thank you to Mick for solving this problem for me.

it turnd out to be the throttle body needing a good clean - quite a common fault.

i used a tin(aerosol) of Carburettor Cleaner.

With a cold engine, remove the Large rubber hose between the air box and the throttle body. Use the Carb.cleaner to clean inside the throttle body and around the throttle butterfly - manually open the throttle with the linkage to make sure you clean it all.

thanks again mick
