What Would You Do?

Karma Supra

AS some of you may know I am planning a engine swap in my grey supra, to take it from "nippy" to "fast" (the curent 3.0 turbo in it is perfect, and will probably go in Millys car, as her engine/gearbox are acting odd)

I was planning to sort my black supra and get it on the road relaibly, then start on the grey car, adding nuts

I have just seen an engine that is more or less ideal on eBay for a low amount of money, with loom, gearbox, ecu, the works, but I can;t really afford it (I could try and credit card it lol) its just what I need but the timing is very wrong... I am £1k over drawn, I have no job, and need to pay at least another £600 or so to mend my black TT..... BUT this is a !Removed! good deal that won't come up again!!!

There is a slight inconsistancy in the advert (it says its a 2001, but it is not a VVTi one, so it can;t be after '98)

What do you reckon I should do, bite the bullet, get it and store it untill I am ready, (my dad will castrate me when another engine turns up, but hey) or leave it and probably have to pay twice much in a few months time???

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGG decisions decisions!

Leave it.

Past experience has shown me only to buy stuff I can afford.

Another one will turn up at some point, and if you're gonna make the car special, it'll be worth the wait. ;)

I'll echo those wise words, but I know from experience that it's easier said than done to walk away from something you really want to buy.

Agreed, probably leave it for now, but get in touch with the seller and let them know you are interested for future, but funds won't handle it right now... They may hang on to it for you if it doesn't sell...?

Sound advice here... I have to say I agree. Who knows what you could potentially get yourself into by taking on more debt without a job...

Be strong mate

as boring as it sounds, i have to agree too, no point getting yourself into loads more debt, believe me, i did it when i was younger and i'm still paying the price....

I would also say dont do it!

Never been in debt myself and never buy anything that i cant afford.

But a friend of mine is in it up to their neck and i have been trying to help them sort it - its not easy when your in debt!

There are lots of things i could have on my credit card but i cant afford them - so i wait until i can :)

Its never wise to buy anything you know you cant afford..... so another no here I'm afraid.....

Its bad enough having debt, but I bet its worse having debt and knowing your cant currently pay it off!

Good deals always come around twice, the next onw could be an even better deal (as we've found with Corollas!)
