Yep, I'm now the proud owner of a 1986 Volvo 240 wagon in periwinkle blue. A bit of a banger, and with 266k miles, but overall a good looking and very well-driving car, only needing a bit of work. Since it only has to do 55mph and start and heat in the winter, I'm not going to treat it as anything more than a heapy beater.

I paid...maybe the US equivalent of 300 UK pounds.

I'll post some pics as soon as I get them.

And I can hear the Volvo wagon jokes from all the way across the pond, thank you :-p

Don't mind old Volvos (20+ years) it's just that the modern ones I'm dubious about, they seem to like pulling out of side roads into Bikers :ffs:

I'd agree with that stereotype, but both my sister and her husband have volvo's.

I tend to find it's more BMW/ Merc drivers, and the odd Jag, that try and make my journeys "more interesting..."

not a big fan of volvos myself but it looks like a tidy car for £300ish! I like that volvo Badge! Thats class! :thumbsup:

We had a 240 saloon about 9 years ago, I loved it, so easy to work on. There getting fairly rare nowadays in good nick.
