Dipped Bulb Replacement

I have a 2003 facelifted Avensis.

Normally when replacing a bulb on a car it is straight forward.

the other day the offside dipped headlight failed, so I though five minutes swap the bulb everything would be ok - how far from the true.

:ffs: Basically I had to go to the main dealer and get them to fit it for me, the mechanic took approx 15-20 mins to fit it! I think the near side takes longer.

If your car has the modified rear covers on the lights to prevent condensation then the working directive from Toyata is to remove the front bumper and the headlight - bit extreme, just to replace a bulb,

Just wondering if anybody has experienced the same or knows an easy way of replaceing the bulbs. The main beam buls is fine.
