Steer Wheel

Just after a bit of advice, has anybody changed a T3 steering wheel for an after market leather. Is it a diy job or is it off to Toyota.

Anybody got any experience.

Thanks very much as always :group-cuddles:

Hi. It's going to be a bit quiet around here this weekend so, until anyone else comes along, you're stuck with me!

I'd think very carefully about changing your steering wheel unless you go for one with an airbag. Styling should never replace safety in my opinion. There are some aftermarket ones that do include an airbag and TRD do a great one but it's very expenseive. Around £500, I think.

Momo do an airbag wheel with some sort of conversion. Try a search on Google.

As for fitting it yourself, I'd steer clear of that (sorry, awful pun!). Apart from the collapsible steering column, there's also the airbag itself to worry about. The airbag is operated by what is effectively, an explosive device and is a very dangerous thing to mess with. Whatever you decide, get it done by the experts.

Sorry if it all sounds a bit negative but better safe than sorry, eh?

Not worth the trade off probably unless you go for the TRD wheel with the airbag, won't come cheap though, think Al's right about the £500 price area.
