Steering Wheel Controls + New Hu

Hi, I've done a quick search on the audio controls on the steering wheel, but the topics are about adding them! My yaris colour collection already has the audio controls on the steering wheel. What I need to know is, when I change the new head unit and attach the iso adapter to the cabling inside the yaris, will the steering wheel controls still work? I.e. volume and track skip? Or are they hardwired to the oem stereo?TIA :D

Mine never worked after just connecting the iso adapter, so you will have to find the wire from the steering wheel controls and connect that to your new H.U.

I haven't done this yet so I cannot tell you which wires are which

Thanks. Guess I'll have to wait untill august for the haynes manual to come out then. That has the wiring diagrams in the back.

Check to make sure you can use the yaris controlls with your new H.U. I went to look at mine but I can't connect mine to my H.U., but I can buy one as an addon.

Not worth the hassle imo. I also think they look absolutely rubbish, they should come as a no cost option!

There is an adaptor you can get for pioneer and kenwood units i believe which allow existing controls to control the units.
