Another New Yaris Owner + Damn Steath Shelf!

Hi all!

I have just aquired a 2001 3Dr Silver Yaris SR (I couldnt afford a new one!)

I must first of all thank you all for providing all this free information, as it as helped to clear up a few questions that I had i.e Is my car going to die because of the blue temperature light being on for a while? lol

You have also allowed me to do my first MOD ever....being the two neon lights in the side pockets!

So

My first question to you guys is......'Where can I get an steath shelf to fit my car?'

I took my car to get fitted with some Alpine 6x9's and a stealth shelf, but the guy from the shop has ordered 2 shelves and they dont fit properly i.e being to small (leaving a gap of around 2 inches) They must be for the new yaris or the 5 door?

So if any of you guys know where I can get one locally (Coventry) or online, it would be much appreciated!

There are several stealth shelves commercially available - http://www.autoacoustics.com/ being one of them... but they're all over a hundred quid.

Mines is a custom made Chris Canavan creation - its solid - fits perfectly and is well made - drop him a PM and see what he says.

Make one yourself! Take out your old shelf... get a big lump of 12mm MDF (i think!) measure around that... cut it and do another... mount the Speakers in some holes, cover in acoustic carpet, stick some fitting blocks on it and it's sorted!!

Ok, that wasn't exactly precise, and iv never done one, and i rarely know what im talking about... but the encouragment was there!
