Castle Combe (again)...

With the sun up from early morning and the roof off at 6:30am the day was always going to be good, the only real question was how mnay TOC or LOC members would arrive as the CCC Days tend not to be the most popular days out.

This one turned out to be better than the last with myself, Badger, Fidgets, Yaris T Spot, Celica91GTI and Harvey AW11 arriving (sincere apologies if I have missed anyone)....

The turn out of cars was very similar to the first day with everything on show from Max Muppet Mobiles to Jenson's, old Aston Martin to a classic TVR, the two latter marques also went out on track.

Yaris T Spot managed to go out on the parade lap getting another TOC member to join the Track fun fray and myself and Harvey both went out for a couple of sessions and enjoyed the fun, it truely was an awesome day out and am now in the process of getting the contact details so we can get a club stand in future if we require.

Next years CCC Events will be slightly different in that the pre-11am sessions on track will only be available for club members so you know when your out on track you won't have asny muppets around which would be superb, anyone up for this next year !!!

Well.... where to begin...

The sun shining, some great looking motors (inlcuding 2 classic honda's!!), and lets not forget... nice cars + sunny weather = half naked women :D (no offence meant.)

It's looking like Ryan, Badger and myself are becoming the terrible trio of combe.. but nice to see some new faces there, perhaps next time we can get another LOC member too  Good to meet 91Celica (Colin) & YarisTpot.

We spent an hour watching the action from Quarry.. and where else can you see a max muppets nova trying to pass a 911 GT2???

Although, the crowning moment was, the BMW 3-series driving round with his fog lights ablaze!! !Removed! typical

Then I joined Ryan for his first track session...

Which was a lot of fun (the engine management light was on for all 5 laps!!), but short of being blown away by a few (very) fast cars.. it was quite un-eventful.. in fact, the only car we passed was a Golf TDi :ffs: and an ailing Mk2 escort that caused a red flag...

As Ryan said.. he got another pass.. and this time we had 4 MR2's on track, a stock one, ryan's, and a couple of turbo's....

The black turbo had both red MR2's 30 seconds after pulling out of the pit, and ryan spent most of the time trying to get past the stock one, but never quite having the power... Going through Camp Corner onto the start-finish straight, a RS500 decided to break the rules and force us wide :ffs: :censor: which caused Ryan to get the red mist .. and floored it through the start line, up Avon rise, and we went hammering towards Quarry at 105mph.....

Where we were met with a back-up of traffic @ 10mph! :ffs: :help: .. Ryan stood on the middle pedal (my internal organs tried to exit through my belly button).. somehow we avoided a collision and everyone got around the corner without incident, and Ryan.. well he was back on the throttle, braked too late for the esses, and manhandled the car through the chicane...

For most of the 5 laps, we had a yellow integrale (not HF I'd like to point out) behind us, and the stock MR2 in front... Ryan did a great job of pushing the car to it's limits, and came close to the kitty-litter a couple of times, but kept it on the track, and was so polite to all the cars that passed us..

However, all credit to Ryan, he did finally get passed the MR2... but only because he spun at Bobbies Chicane on the in-lap

After that.. some (soft) drinks, conversation, watching the action from Camp.. with an unfortuate incident where a Rover 220 coupe blew his engine 1/2 way round the bend, causing a Jetta to spin out, and a Saab 9000 to hit the tyre barriers in a vain attempt to avoid a collision. We waited to see a spin from the oil on following sessions, but apart from a classic Lancer, which did a 540 and ended up heading for the centre of the track.. there were no more incidents...

Then, tired, sunburt (espec Badger  ), and ready to hit the road, it was time to depart...

My Lexus leading two (very) loud red MR2's (Badger, I love your new exhaust), ... I was never going to win any races.. but hey, I was in front

All in all, a very enjoyable day, and next time we should try and get a LOC/TOC stand organised (Ryan?) and get more members down. Combe is a great location, and CCC is an event worth attending...

Only as we were going to your place I'd like to point out....

We made a quick pitstop at Fidgits for some more refreshment and and then on to Badgers where I believe it was Badger leading and a Lexus getting stuck behind a tractor as the corner was approaching and you didn't have time to overtake

Superb day out...

was a great day! i was up there early to see the action from Quarry. ;) Some Seirra Cossies were gettin the back end out which was wicked!! My mates were out in ther white Golf GTI, they were on the track about 4 times, i was a passenger twice which was very scary :fear: because they only paid £100 for the car they don't care if they kill it(or me :crutchy:) my mates were on the track in the afternoon the same time as Ryan!! The MR2's were no match for my nutter friend Tom, he made the black MR2 T show us the finger!!!:lol::lol: He passed Ryan after 3-4 laps. I saw a Carlos Sainz get the back-end out on quarry!!! Good to see him entertaining the croud(it had 300bhp!) The whole day was great fun, I will have to buy a cheap "GTI" thang next time and get out on the track!!

Yup he did, he was one of the :censor: that started overtaking when the red lights were flashing, should let him know that means SLOW DOWN READY TO STOP A& NO OVERTAKING !!!

It appeared that only myself and a worked something or other in front were paying any attention to the lights as a load of cars passed us after we slowed down ready to stop !!!

There were a number of nobs out there during the day but guess that's all part ofthe day, silly thing was I only saw one guy get put in the sin bin for it !!!

Blind.... It could see perfectly well....

There was plenty of spaces when we went but it would have been running a little short if all three of us had gone, it would have been a tad risky for you to go as well, just bad luck with the tractor...
