Lowering Springs

hi, i'm thinking of installing some lowering springs on my e12 hatchback 1.4vvt-i model. i was thinking, is it really worth the money for a 35mm drop? i mean does it show once you install them?

besides, with 16" rims and 45mm tyres is it ok to go for a 35 or maybe even 40 mm drop? or should i stick just to 30mm?

another thing, what springs would you suggest or more importantly which brands would you avoid?

thnks in advance for your help

I'm not sure if TTE do lowering springs for the non-TSport models, but I'm sure they do!? That would be the obvious choice having being developed especially for Toyota Europe....

hiya

i have been doing some research on springs for my 03 CTS

if the car is under warranty - best do it at toyota. they do tte springs that drop it by 30mm. guys on this forum have talked about damper problems so i guess any lower and... well.

I got a recent quote for parts+labour+geometric check for £450 inc vat. Can u let us know if u go that far what u got?

thanx

ok cheers for your help......

i'll check at my dealer and see what he says. because i think that tte parts are quite expensive here whereas i found a good set of springs for only a 100 pounds. maybe he'll agree to fit them and not void the warranty since they're designed specifically for my model and c.e. approved.....

well anyway will let you know what results.

thanks

I paid about £285 for my TTE springs all in. No problems with dampers so far, fingers crossed, but any trouble will be under warranty anyway as they're made by Toyota and fitted by toyota technicians.

Well worth the money in my view, it looks so much better, expecially when you see a non-lowered Corolla against a lowered one. The body roll is much improved too, obviously no sprts car, but it corners a lot better.

Go for it!!!!!
