The Ace also does a Jap Performance meet - every first Tuesday in the month. In the summer, like now, this is a huge meet - its mobbed out. Good though - some really nice cars (and some completely tastless ******* of course)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Charger...

proper car :thumbsup::drool:

There is one around the staines/viginia water area (raod legal) when he launches it it picks up one front wheel with the torque of the engine and the nose rising with the acceleration!! - on street tyres!!!!

madness!!!

Very nice cars, nothing to beat V8 power.

It makes me laugh when you see all these 'Chav wagons' in magazines like 'Sad'n'Sour' and they claim their 4cyl engine has 'power' <_<

Ace Cafe is where they meet now, but can remember days in the 1980's when they used to meet on the Kings Road, Chelsea ...The Chelsea Cruise. In the days when cruise meant 'Cruise' and not a bunch of yobs wheelspining in a supermarket car park like nowadays!

I remember when guildford cruise used to be like that too...

When Milly's engine goes bang, hopefully we'll have some money saved up....

going to drop in a 1UZ-FE.. I think a mkiii supra would suit a big lazy V8 :thumbsup:

Karma Supra Posted Today, 10:55 AM

Yes :yes:

In the 80's a lot of people commented that the Mk3 Supra was a Trans am look-a- like (aimed at same market in America I believe), which always begged the question...why no V8? (Although it's 6cyl is a good engine).

Surely these days an engine from a Lexus V8 would be an ideal conversion? :rolleyes:

Well, I was originally going to do it a couple of years back, after replaceing the old engine in my red supra broken n/a auto -> turbo manual conversion, 8 days later the turbo threw a rod, see AA thread ;)) I was so fed up I wanted a different engine... I had previously owned a soarer.. the soarer TT has the same 2.5 TT (1JZ-GTE) engine as the late JDM mk3 supras (fantastic engine, very hard to break) the soarer also had the 1UZ-FE (4.0V8) engine... so logically that means the V8 should be an easy drop in a supra!!!

Apparently it is an easy conversion.. just chatting to a guy I know he is planning a supercharged 3UZ-FE conversion, so we'll see how he gets on!!! Another friend of mine is puttnga 4.3 Rover V8 out ofa TVR in his, on throttle bodies :drool: The engine is so much lighter then the 7M ship anchor lump (about all its good for) when he fitted it the nose of the car went up about three inches! - it should be running very soon!

There is nothing good about the 7M series engine at all. I don't like them, I never have, and after having to replace yet another broken one on my other half's car, I am never likely to....this is why I just sold all my hybrid turbo and go faster bits for my car without ever fitting them... instead I'll just put a 2JZ-GTE engine in. Old school looks, newschool power and performance, solid bottom ends and no headgasket worries!!!

I should have just bought a 2.5TT mkiii :lol:
